Photo Gallery Link
For those looking for our photo Gallery, it lives at http://ken.bantoft.org/gallery/gallery2.
It’s got shots of our travels, as well as most of the events I attend.
Lensbaby Fun 2/2
Got one decent shot of Shinobi, before she decided my Messenger bag was more interesting to play with.
Lenbaby Fun 1/2
Van bought me a Lensbaby 2.0 as an early Xmas gift, so I wasted part of this evening playing around with it. Alex dropped by to return my Canon 75-300 lens, and he managed to take this (unflattering) shot of me.
Make Money Faster
Ken’s Spam Archive is an experiment involving my 2004 and 2005 spam folders, converted to html (viruses intact). I’ve then embedded the Google Adsense script into them, so I’m basically putting ads on spam. Once Google indexes it, then people looking to make money fast will end up on a message, and be able to click a related advertisement.
It’ll be ironic if it works.
HOV Day Two
Time: 17:00 - 17:20 EST
Total Cars: 28
Taxis: 1
Accidents due to merging to/from HOV Lane: 0
Cars with only 1 person: 0
Cars with only 1 person stopped by police: 0
Looks like all the local news convinced people that it’s not worth the $150 + 3 demerit points to ride solo in the HOV lane.
Highway HOV Lane Opens
The opened the so-called ‘High Occupancy Vehicle’ lane, which in reality is 2 or more people per car. I normally take the 403 home, so I thought I’d keep track of how many cars used it.
Time: 16:00 - 16:20 EST
Total Cars: 66
Taxis: 4
Accidents due to merging to/from HOV Lane: 1
Cars with only 1 person: 4
Cars with only 1 person stopped by police: 2
There were 3 police cars setup to stop violators, as it’s a fine ($30-500) plus 3 demit points. Of course, this just slowed down all the traffic as people rubber necked.
No conclusions yet - just making some data points public.

A year after we started… it’s almost released. Thanks to Packt Publishing for making this happen! Building and Integrating Virtual Private Networks with Openswan is the full title, and it’ll be available in January 2006.
