The inverse gift registry

One of Van’s friends was asking where we were going to do the gift registry. Traditionally for Vietnamese weddings guests bring money in red envelopes as gifts to the new bride and groom.

After much thought, we’re not going to have a registry. We went through a list of everything we could need/want from a wedding registry, and came up with:

  • 6 more Wine glasses
  • Bedsheets/Linens
  • A black or stainless steel toaster

    And that was it. We both have birthdays in June, long before the wedding, so I expect we’ll clean that list out in a hurry anyways.

    In coming up with the list, we realized we have duplicates of everything from pizza cutters to coffee tables. So, we need a nice fair way to get rid of the duplicates - the reverse gift registry. We post a list of stuff we want to pass on, and people pick what they want/need. 1 choice per person to keep it fair for one round, and then open season. Time to code some php/mysql :)
